If you like dark chocolate you will want to try these amazing Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate Brownies.
I have always liked dark chocolate and I wanted to make a brownie that was rich and dark, but also not dried out.
I used Hershey’s dark chocolate cocoa powder and dark chocolate chips to take this to another level.
If you are going to make these brownies, don’t be surprised by the dough like brownie batter. Personally, I bake mine for 3 minutes less than the recommended time but I really like undercooked soft, gooey brownies.
I find that an 8×8 pan works well. If you have a smaller pan use that over a large pan so that your brownies are about 1” thick. If the batter is less than an inch or so the brownies may overcook and turn out hard.
I thought about making a caramel sauce for the brownies but then I realized that I had a bottle of Ghirardelli caramel sauce in the fridge. There are several caramel sauces to choose from and normally they can be found as toppings for ice cream etc.
We sprinkle the top with caramel sauce and sea salt. Once you taste how rich these delicious brownies are you may want the salt to cut the richness a little. We really enjoy the sea salt.
We plan to make more brownie recipes and will create some that are not as dark or rich as these but if you enjoy the rich flavors in dark chocolate, you have to give these a try.
you could also try this recipe without dark chocolate. Use regular chocolate chips and powdered cocoa. You may need a little less powdered sugar so just tase test accordingly if you decide to change this recipe.
We hope you enjoy!
